A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, REMOVING ONE APPOINTMENT FROM
THE LIST OF APPOINTMENTS TO CITY COUNCIL -APPOINTED
BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS AS APPROVED BY CITY COUNCIL
ON FEBRUARY 13, 2007
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown annually appoints citizens who volunteer to the City
Council -appointed boards and commissions; and
WHEREAS, at the regular Council Meeting of February 13, 2007, Mayor Nelon read a list of
names of those volunteer citizens who had agreed to serve on the various City Council -appointed
boards and commissions; and asked for Council's approval of those recommendations); and
WHEREAS, a Council Subcommittee composed of three Councilmembers and the Mayor had
met, interviewed candidates for said appointments and made a list of recommendations to the City
Council as a governing body for consideration at the February 13, 2007 Council Meeting; and
WHEREAS, all of the names read by Mayor Nelon were approved by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that an error was made in the number of positions to be
filled on the Zoning Board of Adjustment; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to remove one of the appointments made on February 13, 2007, in
order that the Zoning Board of Adjustment contains a membership of five people.
N OW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS THAT:
S ECTION 1. Findings. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution
are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this resolution
implements the following policies of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element:
1. Governmental Affairs Policy End 15.0, which states: "A high level of cooperation and
involvement exists among Georgetown's citizens and governmental organizations "
S ECTION 2. The appointment of Bob Hewgley to the City of Georgetown Board of Adjustment
needs to be nullified in order that the Zoning Board of Adjustment contain a membership of five people
