BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING
March 18, 1997 7:00 p.m.
City Hall Council Chambers, 101 E. 7th Street
Georgetown, Texas
The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m. by Rex Peebles.
Other Board members in attendance were Claude Proctor, Joe Ogden, Charles Parker, and Gerald
Carson. Former Board member Roy Headrick was present and participated in the discussion
about the November 1996 minutes. Staff present were Hildy Kingma, Chief Planner of Current
Planning, Wendy Walsh, Senior Planner, Sheree Rabe, Assistant City Attorney, and Murray
Blackman, Assistant to the City Manager.
1.Election of Officers
Charles Parker made a motion to elect Rex Peebles as Chair to the Board. Claude Proctor
seconded the motion, and Gerald Carson asked that the nominations be closed. The motion was
approved 4-0-1, with Rex Peebles abstaining.
Charles Parker made a motion to elect Claude Proct or as Vice-Chair to the Board. Gerald
Carson seconded the motion, and Charles Parker asked that the nominations be closed. The
motion was approved 4-0-1, with Claude Proctor abstaining.
2. Approval of minutes of the March 18, 1997, Board of Adjustment meeting.
Hildy Kingma asked that the Board carefully consider their approval of the minutes because the
applicants had contested the staff's draft minutes with regard to the Board's action on Lots 6 and
7. After discussion, Charles Parker made a motion to approve the minutes as written, and Claude
Proctor seconded the motion which passed by a vote of 4-0-1, with Joe Ogden abstaining
because he was not present at the meeting.
3. Review and discussion of the Zoning Ordinance Amendment establishing standards
for wireless communication facilities.
Wendy Walsh, Sheree Rabe, and Murray Blackman made a presentation to the Board about the
ordinance standards adopted for wireless communication facilities.
4. Members reports and comments. None were made.
The meeting was adjourned.
