'-• • -• • •- li • A Consideration of appointment of a canvassing team of councilmembers to canvass the results of the May 4, 2002 General Election — MaryEllen Kersch Kersch appointed Councilmembers Burson, Navarrette, and Pfiester to canvass the results of the Election. Motion by Evans, second by Noble to approve the appointment. Approved 7-0. The Canvassing Team left the dais to canvass the election results. Upon return to the Council Chamber, Pfiester stated that the numbers were correct. B Consideration of approval of a resolution canvassing the votes for the May 4, 2002 General Election and declaring the election results to be official — Sandra Lee Motion by Smith, second by Evans to approve the resolution. Approved 7-0. C Comments by outgoing Mayor, if no Runoff Election, and Councilmembers Evans commended the outgoing Mayor and Councilmembers and presented plaques of appreciation for their service. Kersch and Lyda spoke of their service on the Council. enjoyed serving with him on the Council. D Swearing in of new Mayor, if no Runoff Election, and new Councilmembers — Sandra Lee Gary Nelon was sworn in as Mayor and Gabe Sansing as Counciimember for District 2 by District Judge Ken Anderson. E Comments from incoming Mayor, if no Runoff Election, and new Councilmembers — Sandra Lee Nelon and Sansing thanked their families and supporters and spoke of looking forward to working with the Council. F Consideration of a resolution ordering a Runoff Election, if necessary, for June 1, 2002— Sandra Lee There was no need for a Runoff Election so this item was not handled. G Consideration of approval of a contract with the Williamson County Elections Minutes of Special Council Meeting Tuesday, May 7, 2002 Page 1 of 2 Pages Administrator for conduct of a Runoff Election on June 1, 2002, if necessary — Sandra Lee There was no need for a Runoff Election so this item was not handled. H Consideration of election of a Mayor Pro Tem — Sandra Lee Motion by Noble, second by Evans to elect Doug Smith as Mayor Pro Tem 7-0.
