A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas
Authorizing the Submittal of an Application, Acceptance of an Allocation of
Funds and Execution of a Grant Agreement with the Texas Department of
Transportation - Aviation Division, for an Airport Improvement Program
(AIP) Matching Grant.
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown is the owner of the Georgetown Municipal Airport;
and
WHEREAS, the City intends to make certain improvements to the Georgetown
Municipal Airport, including the removal of various obstructions to the runway approaches and
the widening or rehabilitation of certain taxiways and taxi lanes (the `Project"); and
WHEREAS, on September 8, 2008, the City Council voted unanimously to authorize the
Mayor to submit a Letter of Interest to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT)-
Aviation Division requesting a 90/10 grant for the Project; and
WHEREAS, if awarded the grant, the City of Georgetown will be responsible for 10% of
the total Project costs; and the total project costs are currently estimated to be S2,784,000.00, and
WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Transportation requires the City to adopt a
resolution authorizing the submission of an application for an AIP Matching Grant;
WHEREAS, the CITY OF GEORGETOWN names the Texas Department of
Transportation as its agent for the purposes of applying for, receiving and disbursing all funds
for these improvements and for the administration of contracts necessary for the
implementation of the Project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Georgetown
that:
SECTION 1. the facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct and are incorporated by reference herein
and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. I he City Council hereby finds that
this resolution implements specific sections of the Georgetown Municipal Airport
Functional Plan Element, and further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not
inconsistent or in conflict with the City of Georgetown 2030 Comprehensive Plan.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby authorizes filing an application for a state AIP
Matching Grant for the Project.

SECTION 3. the City Council hereby authorizes accepting the allocation of state AIP
Matching Funds for the Project.
SECTION 4. The City Council hereby authorizes execution of an AIP Matching Grant
Agreement for the Project.
SECTION 5. The City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor to sign, and the City
Secretary to attest, any documents requiredto apply for and accept these grant funds on
behalf of the City of Georgetown.
SECTION 6. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
