A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS PERTAINING TO THE AGREEMENT WITH LUCAS WILSON TO ACT AS THE DEPUTY CITY ATTORNEY (PROSECUTOR) WHEREAS, a contract for municipal prosecutor legal services was signed with Lucas Wilson with an effective dale of October 1, 2009and which extended for a period of four months, and; WHEREAS, the City Attorney has been reviewing the experience and expertise of the outside attorneys as to best coordinate the legal services that his department can provide and what, if any services are needed by outside attorneys with the goal of providing the best legal team on behalf of the City, and WHEREAS, the City Attorney is in the process of advertising, interviewing and hiring an Assistant City Attorney, Pay Grade 16, and is in the process of reviewing the skill sets as to best suit the needs of the City WHEREAS, Lucas Wilson has been the DeputyCity Attorney since January 2000, and WHEREAS, the City Attorney has recommended the continued use of Lucas Wilson as the Deputy City Attorney with a contract as denoted in Exhibit `A" for the lime period as delineated therein and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT; SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. SECTION 2, That the new contract for Municipal Prosecutor Legal Services is herein approved in substantially the same form as attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and the City Attorney is herein authorized to sign the Agreement on behaff of the City. SECTION 3, This resolution shall be and is hereby declared to be cumulative of all other resolutions of the Cityof Georgetown, and this resolution shall not operate to repeal or affect any of such other resolutions, except insofar as the provisions thereof might be inconsistent or in conflict with the provisions of this resolution, in which event such conflicting provisions, if any in such other resolutions are hereby superseded. SECTION 4. If any provision of this resolution or application thereof to any person or circumstance, shall be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions, or application thereof, of this resolution which can be given effect Othout the invalid provision or application, and 10 this end the provisions of this resolution are hereby declared to be severable. SECTION 5. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign this resolution and the City Secretary to attest. This resolution shall become effective upon its adoption.
