RESOLUTION NO.
A Resolution authorizing a Funding Agreement between the
City of Georgetown and the Lone Star Circle of Care to provide
services for the citizens of Georgetown, and authorizing the
Mayor to execute same and the City Secretary to attest.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that public health services, including prenatal
services are not adequately addressed or reasonably addressable by the private sector
or other public entities; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the provision of such services
accomplishes a public purpose and is beneficial to the community to meet the City's
health, safety and welfare obligations; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown and Lone Star Circle of Care desire to enter
into an agreement to assist the Lone Star Circle of Care in providing convertible cribs
and mattresses for prenatal patients who complete all four classes in the Lone Star
Circle of Care's prenatal series; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this
resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated
by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City
Council finds that this resolution implements the following vision theme in the 2030
Comprehensive Plan:
1.0 QUALITY OF LIFE
1.2 People
G. Georgetown residents respond to the needs of all economic levels
of residents through the provision of affordable housing and
adequate and accessible health and social services.
and further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict
with any other 2030 Comprehensive Plan Policies.

SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Secretary
to attest thereto, funding agreement with the Lone Star Circle of Care, and on behalf of
the City of Georgetown.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
