Dear Chairman Baker,
Thank you for communicating the interest of the Arts and Culture Advisory Board in a
downtown arts center. I certainly appreciate hearing the suggestions from the Board.
Your comments and perspective are very valuable in evaluating the needs of our
downtown district and the arts community.
• The City Manager will be performing a comprehensive facilities study prior to any
determinations regarding the historic Georgetown Light & Water Works building. He
will also provide City Council with final recommendations for this historic property.
Again, I would like to express my thanks for the Board's hard work and
recommendations regarding an arts center in downtown Georgetown.

Sincerely,
George G. Garver

During the City's FY 11/12 budget process the Arts and Culture Board received no allocation. It also
appears that the chance of receiving an allocation in FY 12/13 is slim. This means that the Board will not
be able to give any grants to arts organizations for the next two years. We are passing along this
information so that you may plan your budgets accordingly.
Best regards,
Judy Fabry
