DIRECTOR'S MONTHLY REPORT
GEORGETOWN PUBLIC LIBRARY
August 2010
HIGHLIGHTS
• Richard Groves, who, during the past three years, had been adult services
librarian and then public services librarian, resigned effective August 20. He and
his family moved to Franklin, Tennessee, where he will be a reference librarian for
the Williamson County Library System.
• The Kids' Photo Contest wound up mid -month with approximately 20 entries.
Prizes were awarded for first, second, and third places in two age categories: 8
and younger and 9 to 12.
• The Caring Place donated hundreds of children's books to the summer reading
program. Rosa Garcia used the books as incentive prizes for the kids who kept
reading logs.
• Eliot Wilde, a teenager who has been coming to the library since he was a small
child, played classical guitar for August's live music event. Eliot is extremely
accomplished for a young man his age and is a great favorite with library
audiences.
• Nick Ramos, who created the banners that decorate the library's lamp posts,
displayed his art on the bridge during August.
