The Parks and Recreation Board of the City of Georgetown, Texas, met on Thursday , May 13, 2004.
Members Present:
Kay Cobb, Lilya Crystal, Lindsey Davis Stover, Mark Shepherd, Michael Simpson, Mike Watson, Ron
Doernbach, Van Chandler
Members Absent:
Russ Peterman
Staff Present:
Randy Morrow, Kimberly Garrett

Regular Meeting
1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:04 pm.
2. Roll CaII
All present except for Russ Peterman
3. Appoint two members to serve on the Heritage Gardens Steering Committee
Kimberly talked about the Heritage Gardens located on Hutto Road and the goal of the gardens. She also
explained the role that Parks and Recreation plays in the gardens. The Heritage Gardens steering
committee would like two volunteers from the Parks and Recreation Board to serve as members. Mike
Simpson and Lindsey Davis Stover volunteered to represent the Parks and Recreation Board.
4. Update on Log Cabin in Old Town Park
Council approved dismantling log cabin at the April 27th meeting. Jim Dillard will oversee the cataloging
of the logs. The cabin may be re -constructed in Old Settler's Park or back on the home place where the
cabin originally came from.
5. Update on sports complex venue - Russ Peterman
No update at this meeting
6. Approve Minutes from April 15, 2004
Ron Doernbach made a motion to approve the minutes from April 15, 2004. Kay Cobb seconded the
motion and it passed by unanimous vote.
7. Future Agenda Items
• Discussion of of the cent sales tax left to be dedicated to beautification and parks — Van
Chandler
• Presentation of Dog Park — Mike Simpson
• Update on Bond Issue and role of Parks and Recreation Board
8. Adjourn
Mark Shephard made a motion to adjourn
