Following verification that a Quorum was present, Ron Swain, Chair, called the Meeting
to order at 6:30 p.m.
DISCUSSION was held regarding the City Manager’s Economic Development Action
Plan with specific attention to item (A) Review of the City Economic Development
Structure/Organization. Paul Brandenburg, City Manager, presented his plan for dividing the
Convention and Visitors’ Bureau from the Economic Development Department. The
Commission voiced strong concern about the inadequacy of total funding available for the
economic development department. The City Manager will provide further detail on his plan at
future meetings.
On a MOTION duly made by Commissioner Carr and seconded by Commissioner
Smith, the Commission voted unanimously to support the City Manager’s organization and
structure recommendations and encourage him to begin the process of reorganization including
necessary budget changes.
Tom Yantis, Assistant City Manager, presented an overview of the Wolf Ranch Project.
Bill Hammer and Charlie Crossfield representing the Wolf Ranch developer, Simon Property
Group, contributed to the presentation.
DISCUSSION was held regarding meeting dates and agenda items for future
commission meetings.
