Call to Order Holly Tissier called the meeting to order at 6:32 pm. 2. Minutes & Board Nomination Minutes from the April 6, 2006 meeting were reviewed. A MOTION was made by Gould and seconded by Lesseps to approve the minutes as presented. Motion carried. A MOTION was made to nominate R.C. Lumpkin to replace Linda Rainsdon (resignation) as Board Secretary by Pryde-Enriquez and seconded by Benold. Motion carried. • 3. Updates from Board Task Forces: No task forces have met as of this meeting. Hargrove distributed the outline of the board retreat work plan and suggested that she meet with each group to flesh out the grid and help determine action items. Group leaders were identified as follows: Local Awareness - Rob Hardy Shopping Mecca - Randy Lesseps Visitor Information Betty Ann Sensabaugh Marketing Plan - co-chaired by Ben Grimes and Chris Byer 1 ('! H 14.,07,1 ('w,1F1c I 4. Staff Report I-tighlights included: Wine and Food Festival a huge success and will return to Georgetown next year, April 1, 2007. Red Poppy Festival also a huge success with guesstimates of over 30,000 attendees. Staff did a great job with all of the work. Many happy vendors and more on the waiting list. Venues were all enjoyed, especially the music. Shuttle to and from Wolf Ranch was very successful on both ends. More work on the visitor survey is needed. x TxDOT STEP Grant filed to assist in the relocation of the Visitor Information Center to the old fire station. Remodeling is necessary and appropriate. x Georgetown getting good exposure through free display cases that are available at Travel Information Centers (TICS) across the state. Much cooperative work and advertising is done through the CVB office. x Dates to remember: • Festival of the Arts featuring Hayden June 1-4 Wolf Ranch Round -up June 24 • 2006 Games of Texas: July 21-23 and 27-30 - Need volunteers for socials to be held at Heritage Park on July 22 and Wolf Ranch on July 29. Hargrove will email out volunteer sign up sheets. At 7:15 p.m. a MOTION was made and seconded to adjourn. (Pryde- Enriquez/Lumpkin) Motion carried.
