Minutes
September 15, 2010, at 3:30 p.m.

Members present: Tim Todd; Chair, Betty Craig; Vice‐Chair, Dollene Thompson; Secretary, Lalena
Parkhurst, Patsy Williams, Morris Greenberg
Members absent: Debbie Hoffman, Janis Cowman‐Arteaga
Staff present: Jennifer Bills, Housing Coordinator; Avery Craft, Recording Secretary
This is a regular meeting of the Housing Advisory Board of the City of Georgetown. The Board,
appointed by the Mayor and the City Council, makes recommendations to the City Council on
affordable housing matters.
Regular Session ‐ To begin no earlier than 3:30 p.m.
The meeting was called to order at 3:34 by Tim Todd.
Agenda
1. Consideration and possible action to approve minutes from the July 21, 2010 and August
18, 2010 meetings. Motion to approve the July 21, 2010 minutes by Greenberg. Second
by Craig. Motion to approve the August 18, 2010 minutes by Thompson. Second by
Craig.
2. Discussion about the upcoming presentation of the draft Housing Element at the City
Council workshop on September 28, 2010.
a. Review the presentation and make any changes.
Todd states that he will be heading the workshop and advises that all Board
members are in attendance. The Georgetown Housing Authority Board presented at
City Council Workshop on September 14, 2010 about the potential development of
the former Sierra Ridge property with the help of an outside regional housing
authority. Todd felt listening to the discussion at this meeting that the presentation
would go well and that Council would be in the mood to give direction to the
Housing Advisory Board.

3. Announcement of the upcoming free Race, Place and Fair Housing Conference at the
University of Texas School of Law.
Bills reminded the Board about the upcoming free conference on October 15th and that
the registration deadline is October 1st. She thought there would be good speakers and
some valuable information that would apply to the Board.
4. Discussion on changes to Housing Advisory Board members.
Bills updated the Board that the two positions temporary being filled by Cowman‐
Arteaga and Hoffman as well as the vacant seat had been filled. Three new members
were approved by the City Council and should be finalized by the next Board meeting in
October.
5. Discussion and possible action on future meeting dates.
The Board members agreed that there should be a meeting on October 20th to discuss the
outcome of the City Council Workshop.

Motion to adjourn by Todd. Approved 6‐0 (Hoffman and Cowman‐Arteaga absent)
