Home My WebLink AboutFaith in Action 2009 PROCLAMATION Whereas, Faith in Action Caregivers – Georgetown consists of volunteers from sponsoring congregations and the greater Georgetown community who provide transportation, errands, care calling and friendly visits to older adults in the Georgetown area; and Whereas, Faith in Action Caregivers – Georgetown assists senior citizens in our community to maintain and improve their quality of life, decrease their health care costs, decrease their isolation and improve their access to community services; and Whereas, the assistance provided to over 270 seniors in our community each year allows them to maximize their abilities and live independently in their own homes. Whereas, the City of Georgetown would like to express its appreciation to the volunteers who give their time and talents to Faith in Action Caregivers – Georgetown for providing this important service to our community. NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE GARVER, Mayor of the City of Georgetown, do hereby proclaim Wednesday, April 28, 2009, as FAITH IN ACTION CAREGIVERS – GEORGETOWN DAY in honor of their commitment and service to the senior citizens of the Georgetown community.
