PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Faith in Action Caregivers consists of volunteers from sponsoring congregations
and the greater Georgetown community who provide transportation, errands, care calling and
friendly visits to older adults in the Georgetown area; and
WHEREAS, Faith in Action Caregivers assists senior citizens in our community to maintain
and improve their quality of life, decrease their health care costs, decrease their isolation and
improve their access to community services; and
WHEREAS, the assistance provided to hundreds of seniors in our community each year
allows them to maximize their abilities and live independently in their own homes; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown would like to express its appreciation to the volunteers
who give their time and talents to Faith in Action Caregivers for providing this important service
to our community; and
WHEREAS, in 2011, Faith in Action Caregivers is celebrating its 10th year anniversary.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE GARVER, Mayor of the City of Georgetown, do hereby
proclaim Tuesday, April 26, 2011, as
FAITH IN ACTION CAREGIVERS DAY
in honor of their commitment and service to the senior citizens of the Georgetown community.
