and
WHEREAS, today, Arbor Day has spread beyond the United States and is observed in many countries
around the world; and

wildlife; and
WHEREAS, trees are a renewable resource giving us paper, wood for our homes, fuel for our fires
and countless other wood products; and
WHEREAS, trees in our city increase property values, enhance the economic vitality of business
areas, beautify our community and, wherever they are planted, are a source of joy and renewal for all; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE GARVER, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
