WHERE S, heretofore on the 13th day of December, 1,96 5, the City Council of
the City of Georgetown, Texas, aas, <adotecl an ordinance callingas special election
to be held in said City on the 5th day of February, 19,66, to determine whether
the City Council of the City of Georgetown should adopt a resolution substaana

"BE IT RESOLVED ilY "Tiff; CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, T YaI,S,
as follows=
"Section 1. It is hereby found and de=termined that
one or wore slum or blighted areas exists in tlae
City of Georgetown, Texas.
"Section 2. It is hereby further found and determined that
the rehabilitation, conservation, or slum clearance and
redevelopment, or a combination thereof, of such slum or
blighted area or areas, is necessary in the interest. of public
health, safe=ty, morals or welfare of the residents of said City,
°"Seetion 3, It is hereby further determined that the
City of Georgetown shall exercise they powers granted
to the City by the Urban Renewal Law of the State of
Texas, except the Urban Renewal Project Powers as dei
fined in said Urban lteraewal Law.
"Section 4. It is hereby further determined to be necessary and
in the public interest that the City of Georgetown elect, and
accordingly, the City If r eby elects to have said Urban Renewal Pro
,jict; lowers exercised by the Urban Renewal Agency of tikes City of
Georgetown, which Agency is created by said Urban Renewal Law.
"Section 5. The findings, derermira tions, and elections
herein made are made in accordance with and the various tenses used
herein are used in the same sense as used or defined in said
Urban Renewal Law,"
AND 'WHEREAS, S, aall of the City of Georgetown, for tinea purpose of
said election, voted at the Fire Station in they City of Georfretown, Texas; and
WHEREAS, there were cost, in said voting place as total of 283 votes,
resulting in 175 votes for the proposition and IOS votes aabaaingt they rotaos-
i.tion, as is reflected by the election returns heretofore filed with the
City Secretary; and
WHEREAS, only qualified taxpaying vote=rs owning taxable property
in said City and who had duly rendered their property for taxation were
allowed to vote,

as majority of the qualified voters who own taxable property in said City and
who have duly rendered the same for taxation voting at said special election
