RES 101006-T - Library Long-Range Plan
RESOLUTION NO. /01004 ' r A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN CITY COUNCIL EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR THE LONG-RANGE PLAN FOR THE GEORGETOWN PUBLIC LIBRARY AS RECOMMENDED BY THE LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD WHEREAS, the staff of the Georgetown Public Library conducted a customer service survey in June 2006 to determine the level of satisfaction of library patrons with the service they received, the results of which were presented to the members of the Library Advisory Board of the City of Georgetown; and WHEREAS, a subcommittee of the Library Advisory Board, charged with updating the current long-range plan, created the attached long-range plan, which took into consideration the continuation of successful programs, the results of the customer service survey, and the changes made possible by the upcoming move to a new facility; and WHEREAS, the members of the Library Advisory Board of the City of Georgetown have approved the attached long-range plan; and WHEREAS the Texas State Library and Archives Commission requires approval of the long- range plan by the City Council in order for the library to receive accreditation and funding from said Commission; S OW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: S ECTION 1: That the Long -Range Plan (2007-2012) of the Georgetown Public Library, attached hereto as Exhibit A, is hereby approved as a planning document for the City of Georgetown Public Library services and programs for the next five years. S ECTION 2: All ordinances and resolutions or parts of ordinances and resolutions, in conflict with this Resolution are hereby repealed, and are no longer in any force and effect. S ECTION 3: If any provision of this Resolution or application thereof to any person or circumstance shall be held invalid such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions, or application thereof of this Resolution which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this Resolution are hereby declared to be severable. S ECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
