HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 012505-S-5 - ETJ Boundary Round RockRESOLUTION NO. 671122505-S-5 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZ:NG THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT REGARDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE DEFINITIVE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION PROPERTY BETWEEN THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS AND THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock, Texas, and the City of Georgetown, Texas wish to establish and Extraterntor;al Jurisdiction. (ETJ) property boundaries between the two municipalities, and WHEREAS, Section 42.021 of the Texas Local Government Code establishes the extent of Extraterritorial Jurisdiction of municipalities; and WHEREAS, Section 42.023 of the Texas Local Government Code allows municipalities to reduce it's Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) and relinquish all ETJ rights in said property; and WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas, wishes to enter into an Agreement regarding Extraterritorial Jurisdiction property boundary by and between the City of Round Rock, Texas and the City of Georgetown, Texas to establish said ETJ boundaries. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: That the said Petition, being proper and according to law, shall be, and it is hereby, granted; and, further the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City said Agreement, a copy of same being attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein for all purposes.
