A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT
REGARDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE DEFINITIVE
EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION BETWEEN THE CITY OF LEANDER,
TEXAS AND THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS
WHEREAS, the City of Leander, Texas, and the City of Georgetown, Texas wish to establish
definitive Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) property boundaries between the two municipalities, and
WHEREAS, Section 42.021 of the Texas Local Government Code establishes the extent of
statutory ETJ of municipalities based on population; and
WHEREAS, Section 42.023 of the Texas Local Government Code allows municipalities to change
the size of their ETJ if the governing body gives its consent by ordinance or resolution ; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas, wishes to enter into an Agreement regarding ETJ
property boundary by and between the City of Leander, Texas and the City of Georgetown, Texas, to
establish said ETJ and CCN boundaries.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS:
That the attached Agreement, being proper and according to law, shall be and it is hereby granted;
and, further, the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City said Agreement,
a copy of same being attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein for all purposes.
PASSED AND RESOLVED this the 22nd day of March 2005.
