HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 121305-DD-1 - Commuter Rail DistRESOLUTION NO. 2-13 ©5- PPp'i A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, to Appoint a Council Member to the Board of Directors of the Austin San Antonio Intermunicipal Commuter Rail District. WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 6550c-1, Section 2, Revised Civil Statutes, the City of Georgetown elects to become a part of the Austin San Antonio Intermunicpal Commuter Rail District, effective on November 22, 2005. WHEREAS, further, resolved, that the amount of $49,500.00 will be appropriated for payment to the Austin San Antonio Intermunicipal Commuter Rail District for the period of the District's fiscal year, October 1, 2005 through September 30, 2006. WHEREAS, further, resolved that Patty Eason, an elected member of the City Council of Georgetown, Texas, is appointed to the Board of Directors of Austin San Antonio Intermunicipal Commuter Rail District. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. Findings. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this resolution implements the following policies of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element: 1. Government Affairs Policy End 15.0, which states: "A high levelof cooperation and involvement exists among Georgetown's citizens and governmental organizations." SECTION 2. Councilmember Patty Eason has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Austin San Antonio Intermunicipal Commuter Rail District.
