HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 110904-DD - Appointments to GHARESOLUTION NO. 1 f ©9 0 4" b D A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS APPOINTING DIRECTORS AND OFFICERS OF THE GEORGETOWN HOSPITAL AUTHORITY ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS. WHEREAS, By Ordinance 73-4 and pursuant to Tex. Rev. Civ. Stat. Art. 4437e, as amended (now recodified at Tex. Health and Safety Code ch. 262.001 et seq.), the City of Georgetown, Texas, as the "Sponsoring Entity," approved Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws creating the Georgetown Hospital Authority ("GHA") for purposes consistent with the statute; and WHEREAS, the teams of the Directors of the GHA have expired and new Directors and Officers need to be appointed; and WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to appoint new Directors and Officers to the GHA as stated herein. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN THAT: Section 1 The City Council herby finds that this Resolution implements Finance Policy 4 of the Century Plan — Policy Plan Element, which states: "The City shall develop a strategy to provide sufficient financial resources, for both short term and long term needs," and further finds that this Resolution is not inconsistent with or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Century Plan. Section 2: The City Council of the City of Georgetown hereby appoints the following persons as Directors/Officers of the GHA for the following terms: Tim Kennedy- President Bob Brent Esther Weir Paul Jordan Term until November 9, 2006 Term until November 9, 2006 Tenn until November 9, 2006 Term until November 9, 2006 Section 3. The Directors and/or the City Secretary and City Attorney are authorized to file the necessary documents, if any, with the Secretary of State regarding this Resolution. Section 4: The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Secretary to attest thereto this Resolution on behalf of the City of Georgetown.
