A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS, EXPRESSING SUPPORT TO THE GEORGETOWN COMMUNITY CLINIC
FOR THEIR APPLICATION AS A FEDERALLY QUALIFIED HEALTH CLINIC
(FQHC)
WHEREAS, the Georgetown Community Clinic is applying for funding through a program
of the Federal Government known as FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Clinic) ; and
WHEREAS, the Clinic, in its second year of operation, has served Georgetown and
Williamson County with over 18,000 patient visits; and
WHEREAS, the Clinic can expand its medical offering with the requested funding and serve
even more of our population and address more of its medical need.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT.
SECTION 1. Findings. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this
resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference
herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that
this resolution implements the following policies of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element:
1. Governmental Affairs Policy End 6.0, which states: "A high level of cooperation and
involvement exists among Georgetown's citizens and governmental organizations."
SECTION 2. Proceedings The City Council of the City of Georgetown hereby supports, in
spirit, the Clinic's application for federal funding and respectfully requests that the Clinic be granted
full FQHC status.
