RE: Arts & Culture Board
I am so glad to hear that you will be able to join the Arts and Culture Advisory Board. I have reviewed your appointment
with Mayor Garver, and he has added an agenda item on the September 251h City Council agenda to confirm your
appointment.
There is no need for your to attend the Council meeting unless you would like to be there. The appointment item will be
considered, among other items, in a quick block vote. However, if you would like to attend the meeting, please feel free
to let our City Secretary Jessica Brettle know that you are present, and I'm sure the Mayor would like to say hello.
After City Council has confirmed your appointment, I will contact you to coordinate having your Oath of Office and other
documents completed prior to your first Board meeting.
If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to contact me.
•Sincerely,
Rachel

Hello Rachel
Thank you for contacting me regarding the open position on the Arts and Culture Board. Today, after
speaking with Eric, I would like to be considered for that position if it remains available. Thank you for your
consideration.

Subject: Steve Proesel resignation from the Arts and Culture Board
Rachel and Jessica,
I'm forwarding you an e-mail resignation from Steve Proesel, member of the Arts and Culture Board. As you can see
from the e-mail, Steve's wife is having serious medical issues and he will need to be with her during this time.
After reviewing the applicants to replace Karen Lange, Judy and I didn't have any preference other than Gary Anderson
as our first choice to replace Karen. We don't have any preference in the candidates replacing Steve.
Thanks,
Eric P. Lashley

I meant to talk to you after the meeting, but missed you.
As you know, Pat is on the lung transplant list in Dallas. That means that on potentially 3 hours notice we will
be gone for 3 months or more. Makes for an anxiety filled life. But it also means that I don't feel comfortable
committing to anything since there is hopefully a very good possibility that I won't be able to fulfill that
commitment. I was going to stay on the A&C Board, but find that I haven't been volunteering for things and am
not able to attend anything outside of Georgetown. I'd been thinking about resigning, but put it off, since I
enjoyed working with you and the rest of the Board. However, I think having a board member who can more
fully participate, like the Fredericksburg trip, is a lot more beneficial to the community. Therefore, I'm
resigning from the Arts and Culture Board effective today.
I've enjoyed working with you and Judy and wish you much success with the Arts Center and everything else
you do promoting Arts and Culture in Georgetown.
Steve
