Call to order at 3:10 p.m. II. Carol conducted a personality assessment of all those present and presented team- building tips based on personality types. III. Baldridge conducted an open space workshop to generate ideas for the 2003-2004 plan of work IV. Discussion regarding the purpose of Main Street and the four-point approach was held to orient new board members. V. Discussion regarding the reorganization of the Department of Economic Development Eason and Baldridge made plans to attend the Economic Development Commission (EDC) Workshop with the Council VI. Discussion regarding the status of the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) zone Baldridge reported that Charlie Walker held an internal meeting to discuss the TIF. Further discussion was postponed due to the upcoming EDC workshop regarding a departmental reorganization. VII. Statements generated from the open space workshop were then organized under the four Main Street committees as follows: a. Historic Design  Parking  Sidewalks, Beautification, etc.  Lighting  Design Guidelines  Downtown Master Plan  Expand Façade Fund  Rebloom program b. Promotion  Create more exposure – P.R.  Hill Country Trail Region  Opportunities for historic tourism  Georgetown hostess  Business hours  No “Hillsboro”  Making Georgetown a destination  Fundraising  Liquor Laws c. Economic Development / Restructuring  Finalize Transition to Corporation  Seek more funding from City  Implement Winters Report  Establish TIF  Condo Living Downtown  Seek Grants for Main Street Advisory Board and the City of Georgetown  Work with other organizations (CVB, EDC, etc.) for Economic Development  Support for existing Businesses. What do we want downtown?  More retail / opportunities  Development of 7 blocks; not only square and beyond  How to fund? d. Organization  Transition of board  Board structure  Workshops – Main Street for merchants, historic workshops, façade fund workshops  Active Manager  Select New Subcommittee Chairs and officers  Functions of Main Street Board  Link with Historic Architectural Review Commission  Who’s Who  Joint Effort  What Works / did not work VIII. Eason reported on the status of the Sun City / City of Georgetown water arrangements IX. Meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
