HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_MSTAB_12.13.2005L:\Global\Boards and Commissions\Minutes\MSTAB\2005\05-12-13 M.doc     MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD MEETING MINUTES  4 P.M.  – DECEMBER 13, 2005  FARNEY MANAGEMENT CORP. LLP OFFICE      Board Members Present:   Gordon Baker, chair, Cindy Locke, vice‐chair, Marsha  Farney, secretary, Laura Eliel, Dianne Painter, Sarah  Jane Blankenship, Larry McCormick, Kirk Kriegel,   Francisco Choi  Staff Present: Shelly Hargrove, Main Street Manager    1. Called to order at 4:10 p.m. by Gordon Baker.      2. Approval of minutes.                                                     Minutes were reviewed by the board.  Sarah Jane made a correction to add  the motion of accepting Sweet Serendipity’s request for an additional  $514.70 in Main Street Facade & Sign Grant funds for Mrs. Adam’s work  at 710 S. Austin Ave.  Larry made the motion to approve the  minutes with  the correction.  Laura seconded the motion.  Motion carried.    3. City Council Presentation.  Shelly presented a rough draft of a power point presentation that will take  place at a City Council Workshop at 4 p.m. on Monday, January 23.  Many  suggestions were given by board members including adding a slide of  Main Street Program successes, sticking mainly with photos instead of  text, and investment made by Council versus investment made by the  public.    4. Board Retreat & Board Officers.  The last meeting for outgoing board members is February, so any new  board members will come on board in March.  Members need to start  looking at dates that would be open in March to have the annual board  L:\Global\Boards and Commissions\Minutes\MSTAB\2005\05-12-13 M.doc retreat.  Also, consider any officer position that is of interest since those  will be voted on in March as well.    5. Agenda Items next meeting.  Next meeting is January 10, and presentations on new downtown projects  will be given by Sam Pfiester and Francisco Choi.  Red Poppy Festival  report by Cari Miller will be given, and a suggestion for marketing  incentives for retail or services businesses on first floors.    6.
