MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD MEETING MINUTES
8 A.M. – JULY 11, 2007
WILLIAMSON COUNTY HISTORICAL MUSEUM
Board Members Present: Gordon Baker, chair; Ellen Davis, secretary; Beverly
Adam; Gary Leissner; Janlyn Ross
Board Members Absent: Kirk Kriegel, vice chair; Terri Countess
City Staff Present: Shelly Hargrove, Tourism Director and Main Street
Manager; Cari Miller, CVB Coordinator; Elizabeth
Cook, Planning Department
Guests Present: Bill Sattler, Georgetown City Council; Linda McCalla,
Eugenia Harrell and Kathy Sellers, Georgetown
Heritage Society
1. The meeting was called to order at 8:40 a.m. by Chair Gordon Baker. Prior to
the official start of the meeting, representatives from the Georgetown
Heritage Society presented the board with an $8,000 check that represented
proceeds from the Main Street 25th Anniversary celebration. Gordon also
thanked Janlyn for her service on the board since this was her last meeting.
2. Gary made a motion to approve the minutes of the June 13 meeting and
Beverly seconded it. The minutes were approved by all present.
3. Gary made a motion to approve the revised bylaws for the Main Street
Advisory Board. Beverly seconded it, and the motion was approved by all
present.
4. Elizabeth Cook gave a brief update on HARC activities. New projects include
an Italian restaurant planned for the white stucco building at the intersection

of University and Church streets. The owner of the building at 10th and
Austin streets hopes to turn it into a coffee bar once the current tire shop
tenants leave.
5. Shelly gave her staff report. She said the new ShopCentralTexas.com website
received 9,332 hits in its first month of operation. She also distributed bound
copies of the annual board work plan.
6. Janlyn gave a report on Wolf Ranch. She said it is now 80 percent leased. New
stores/restaurants coming include Wing Stop and Select Comfort. Cotton
Patch Café and a drive‐thru Starbucks may also be coming.
7. Cari gave a final report on the Red Poppy Festival. She said it raised $6,102.37
this year. Letters to solicit sponsors for 2008 are going out soon. Board
members need to follow up with potential sponsors by the September
meeting. The 2008 Poppy Festival will be held April 26‐27. Planning meetings
will be held the 4th Thursday of the month starting in September.
8. The Design Committee is hosting a workshop for store owners on
Wednesday, July 25 from 8‐9 a.m. at Grace Heritage Center.
