MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD MEETING MINUTES
8 A.M. – MARCH 4, 2009
THE WILLIAMSON MUSEUM – 716 S. AUSTIN AVE.
Board Members Present: Chris Dyer, chair; Trevor Dunham, vice‐chair; Connie
Watson, secretary; Denise Jimenez, Pete Smith
Board Members Absent: Tiffany McLendon
Guests: Jane Estes, Georgetown Art Works; Trisha Tallman,
DGA
City Staff Present: Shelly Hargrove, Main Street Manager; Robbie Wyler,
Historic District Planner, Tina Dunbar, Economic
Development, Mark Thomas, Economic Development
1. The meeting was called to order at 8:03 a.m. by Chair Chris Dyer.
2. Trevor made a motion to approve the minutes of the Feb. 4 meeting and
Connie seconded it. The minutes were approved by the board members
present who were at the Feb. 4 meeting.
3. Chris Dyer nominated Trevor Dunham as vice chair and Connie Watson as
secretary. The motion was seconded by Connie. The nominations were
approved by all present.
4. Jane Estes with Georgetown Art Works gave an update and apology to the
board about the 8th St. Courtyard/Art Park project.
5. Robbie Wyler presented an update on projects coming before HARC. A new
business opening on 8th St. is Tribal Impressions, another new business is
Photography for Women. Tamiro Plaza is filling up with businesses. March
26 the Contessa project will be up for discussion at HARC. It is the building
at 8th and Rock streets. It will be demolished and the new building will have
first floor retail and second and third floor residential. Robbie also discussed
a tri‐fold brochure that Main Street and Planning & Development have been
working on to assist new building and business owners.

6. Shelly presented the staff report. She showed the First Lady’s Texas
Treasures award video with Anita Perry featuring Georgetown. On April 17,
from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., the THC Preservation Conference will have tours.
Trisha announced that DGA is promoting “Friends of the Square” that will
have a $25 non‐voting membership fee and the card will offer discounts or
special promotions for the year. Mark Thomas mentioned that Inwood
Winery is still looking at the fire station as a possible location. The annual
board training will be moved to March. Dates to remember are board
orientation March 4 at 6 p.m. DGA meeting is March 26 at 8:30 a.m. at Down
the Alley Bistro. The City‐Wide Garage Sale is March 28. April 25‐26 is Red
Poppy Festival.
7. Committees: Board members need to fill out talent bank questionnaires and
select committees next month.
8. The meeting adjourned at 9:20 a.m. The next meeting will be April 8.
