MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD MEETING MINUTES
8 A.M. – APRIL 8, 2009
THE WILLIAMSON MUSEUM – 716 S. AUSTIN AVE.
Board Members Present: Chris Dyer, chair; Trevor Dunham, vice‐chair; Connie
Watson, secretary; Pete Smith, Tiffany McLendon,
Tamara Hudgins, Denise Jimenez
City Staff Present: Shelly Hargrove, Main Street Manager; Robbie Wyler,
Historic District Planner
1. The meeting was called to order at 8:04 a.m. by Chair Chris Dyer.
2. Trevor made a motion to approve the minutes of the Feb. 4 meeting and
Denise seconded it. The minutes were approved by the board members
present who were at the April 8 meeting.
3. Tamara Hudgins with the Chisholm Trail Community Foundation presented
their Façade & Sign Grant application for their building at 116 W. 8th St. Chris
made a motion to approve $4,250 for their façade and signs. Connie
seconded. The motion was approved.
4. Robbie Wyler presented an update on projects coming before HARC.
Contessa at 8th and Rock streets is a mixed‐use project that went for its second
discussion. They hope to go for official HARC approval in the next few
months. HARC meets on the 4th Thursday at 6 p.m. There are two sign
subcommittee meetings coming up on the 2nd Thursday at 4 p.m. and 4th
Thursday at 5:30 p.m. The Georgetonian is putting in sidewalks and parking
will be done in the next few months. They are voluntarily tying into the
master plan and have been protecting trees on the project. The old Sherman
Hotel at 1108 S. Main Street is putting in landscaping. Robbie shared the
downtown pamphlet that they have been handing out to applicants. It has
been well received.

6. Shelly presented the staff report. She invited the board to attend the April 14
Heritage Trail Program Reception at the Capitol. Linda McCalla and Shelly
will give a presentation and tour on the Georgetown Main Street Program for
the THC Annual Preservation Conference on Friday, April 17. For National
Preservation Month in May the theme is “This Place Matters” and there will
be a city proclamation read at 7 p.m. on First Friday, May 1. There also will
be a street dance on Main Street, an architectural scavenger hunt, and
essay/photo contest with the Williamson County Sun. A retail steering
committee is looking at what retail will be a good fit for downtown.
Feedback is wanted from the board on the Dan Moody mural initial designs
for the Palace Theatre Annex.
7. The meeting adjourned at 9:02 a.m. The next meeting will be May 6.
