MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD MEETING MINUTES
8:30 A.M. — FRIDAY, MARCH 12, 2010
WILLIAMSON COUNTY COURTHOUSE
2ND FLOOR NORTH CONFERENCE ROAM, GEORGETOWN, TEXAS
Committee Members Present:
Chris Dyer, chair, Denise Jimenez, Connie
Watson, secretary, Mike Burton, Judy Lester,
David Judkins, Linda Turner
City Staff Present: Shelly Hargrove, Main Street Manager; Robbie
Wyler, Historic District Planner
1. The meeting was called to order at 8:30 a.m. by Chair Chris Dyer. New board
members, David Judkins and Linda Turner, were introduced.
2. Mike moved to approve the February 12 minutes. The motion was seconded
by Denise. Minutes were approved by all present.
3. Discussion and motion to nominate Board Vice -Chair and Secretary followed.
Chris moved to nominate Connie Watson as Board Vice -Chair. Mike
seconded the motion. Motion was approved. Chris moved to nominate Mike
Burton as Board Secretary. Denise seconded the motion. Motion was
approved by all.
4. Robbie Wyler gave the HARC update. Galaxy Cupcake plans for expansion
into the courtyard will need a site plan and permitting. The old Wylie's
location, tire center at 114 E. University Ave. is moving. There are new
owners at the old Heritage Printing buildings, opening up the windows,
adding handicap accessibility for ADA compliance. There are electrical issues
under consideration. Book Pride is approved for a canopy sign. Poppy Tots
at 711 S. Main is approved for canopy sign that will be up before Red Poppy
Festival. Three -Legged Willies will be open in early April.
5. Budget 2010/11 board input will include filling out forms and to remember
the focus of the board when filling it out. It will be a slim budget year.

a. Downtown Promotion Reporter- March issue — Georgetown article on
branding and billboards for downtown as a wine and food
destination.
b. Annual Board training will be April 20, 2010 with Jill Robinson with
the Texas Historical Commission.
c. Holiday 2010 Meeting- activities going on every weekend
d. National Preservation Conference is October in Austin. There is a
March deadline for field session proposals.
e. Pink Heals Tour is Wednesday, October 13. Main Street will be
closed between 7th and 8th streets. April 1 meeting is in the Fire
Administration Building. Proceeds go to Breast Cancer Resource
Center of Williamson County.
f. National Preservation Month is May. "Old is the new green"
7. Committee Reports:
a. Promotion: Revenues of nearly $15,000 were reported for the Swirl
Event, Not all expenses are in, but expected profits of $10,000 are
anticipated. A quarter page thank you ad to run.
b. Economic Restructuring/Organization: Chris is chairing
committee, and they didn't meet in February. Will pick up again
this month.
c. Design: The design committee will be starting up again.
8. The meeting was adjourned at 9:50 a.m. The next meeting is set for Tuesday,
April 20 in the Economic Development conference room at 614 Main Street.
