MIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD MTG. MINUTES
9:30 A.M. — THURSDAY, APRIL 5, 2012
FIRE ADMINISTRATION CONFERENCE ROOM
816 S. MAIN ST., GEORGETOWN, TEXAS
Board Members Present: Denise Jimenez, Julie Laderach, Linda McCalla,
Amanda Parr, Marcy Urban
Board Member Absent: Karin Truxillo
Guest Present: David Kellerman
City Staff Present: Shelly Hargrove, Main Street Manager and Robbie
Wyler, Historic District Planner
1. The meeting was called to order at 9:33 a,m. by Board Chair Denise Jimenez.
2. Denise moved to approve the March 23rd board meeting minutes, Linda seconded. All
board members voted to approve (5-0).
3. Discussion of vice -chair and secretary positions for the upcoming year, Denise moved to
nominate Linda McCalla to serve as board vice chair again, Julie seconded. All board
members voted to approve (5-0). Amanda moved to serve as board secretary, Denise
seconded. All board members voted to approve (5-0).
4. Shelly discussed that this is the time for board members to decide which primary and
secondary committee they are interested in serving on for the upcoming year.
5. Robbie gave a HARC update by reviewing the CAMP training held in Georgetown
which was attended by 85 people. Realtor training for commercial properties in the
historic district was one of the partnering ideas. The Planning department is trying to
finalize updates to the Design Guidelines. Premium Blend Performance, Balance
Wellness Spa and Hat Creek Burger Co. have all come before HARC. Hat Creek's special
use permit for a drive-thru lane at 400 block of S. Austin Ave. will go in front of city
council April 24.
6. Staff Report: Staff met with the owner of Thundercloud Subs and offered free design
assistance for the facade and signage of the building through the Texas Main Street
Program; Burger University is planning to open next week, and Grape Creek is having a
study done on the building floors which might be damaged due to termites.
7. Committee Reports:
d. Design: Amanda reported that April meeting will be moved to April 16. Eric Visser
is requesting a written proposal for a mural on the side of his Main Street building

near the Grace Church. Also in a letter to the downtown merchants in regards to
fundraising for the "Light Up the Square" campaign, the Design committee would
like to include some brief information about the holiday window decorating contest.
> Joint Arts & Culture: Marcy reported that Mike Martin with the
Chamber's Art Alliance sent out an email that the city council gave a
preliminary yes for a pilot program arts center in the first floor of the
historic firehouse building.
e. Economic Restructuring: Marcy reported on the Pirate Bike Awareness Day and the
push to get SU pennants or flags downtown, as well as decals.
c. Promotion: Denise and Amanda preliminary discussed the idea of possibly
partnering with SU and local artist groups to do an "Empty Bowl" type dinner on the
courthouse square and possibly celebrate Main Street's 30th Anniversary. SU did a
similar project during lunch.
d. Organization: no report
8. The meeting adjourned by Board Chair Denise Jimenez at 10:41 a.m.
