WHEREAS, Kyle Gandy is an Assistant Coach for the 2012 Georgetown High School Varsity
Eagle Football Team; and
WHEREAS, the 2012 Georgetown High School Varsity Eagle Football Team completed the most
successful season in Georgetown High School’s history with a 15‐1 record; and
WHEREAS, the 2012 Georgetown High School Varsity Eagle Football Team went undefeated in
district play and won the UIL Region III, District 17 Title with a 7‐0 record; and
WHEREAS, the 2012 Georgetown High School Varsity Eagle Football Team qualified for the UIL
4A Division I State Football Playoffs and successfully defeated Magnolia, Summer Creek, Angleton,
Nederland , and Leander Rouse to advance as a State Finalist to play against Denton Guyer in the State
Championship Game on December 22, 2012 at the Dallas Cowboy Stadium in Dallas, Texas; and
WHEREAS, this team demonstrated that dedication, work ethic, long hours of practice, mutual
support and commitment, discipline, and team unity can be a very powerful and unstoppable force, and
WHEREAS, the Head Coach, Assistant Coaches, Athletic Trainers, Student Trainers, Team
Managers, and Film Crew who provided superior leadership, expertise, dedication, and commitment to
the development of the players of the Georgetown High School Varsity Eagle Football Team are also
honored for this remarkable and historic football season; and
WHEREAS, the Georgetown High School Varsity Eagle Football Team further enjoyed the
wholehearted support of the GISD Board of Trustees, the superintendent Joe Dan Lee, principal Carlton
Tucker, athletic director Phil Blue, and is the source of tremendous pride for the students, faculty and
staff of Georgetown High School and the entire City of Georgetown and surrounding community, and
the team members are certainly worthy of recognition for their outstanding achievement; and
WHEREAS, the entire City and community are not only proud of the Georgetown High School
Varsity Eagle Football Team’s accomplishments in 2012, but also in the way they represented
Georgetown on and off the field with integrity, sportsmanship, and class; and
WHEREAS, the recognition and celebration of the success of the 2012 Georgetown High School
Eagle Football Team serves to bring our community together in their honor for a phenomenal football
season; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Georgetown City Council that the 2012
Georgetown High School Eagle Football Team be honored for their success in being a State Finalist in the

WHEREAS, this team demonstrated that dedication, work ethic, long hours of practice, mutual
support and commitment, discipline, and team unity can be a very powerful and unstoppable force, and
WHEREAS, the Head Coach, Assistant Coaches, Athletic Trainers, Student Trainers, Team
Managers, and Film Crew who provided superior leadership, expertise, dedication, and commitment to

Varsity Eagle Football Team’s accomplishments in 2012, but also in the way they represented
Georgetown on and off the field with integrity, sportsmanship, and class; and
WHEREAS, the recognition and celebration of the success of the 2012 Georgetown High School
Eagle Football Team serves to bring our community together in their honor for a phenomenal football
season; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Georgetown City Council that the 2012
Georgetown High School Eagle Football Team be honored for their success in being a State Finalist in the
UIL 4A Division I State Football Playoffs; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE GARVER, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS, do hereby proclaim January 20, 2013, as Georgetown High School Eagle Football Team Day in
honor of its historic 2012 Football Season.

WHEREAS, Ed Ruby is an Assistant Coach for the 2012 Georgetown High School Varsity Eagle
Football Team; and
WHEREAS, the 2012 Georgetown High School Varsity Eagle Football Team completed the most
successful season in Georgetown High School’s history with a 15‐1 record; and
WHEREAS, the 2012 Georgetown High School Varsity Eagle Football Team went undefeated in
district play and won the UIL Region III, District 17 Title with a 7‐0 record; and
WHEREAS, the 2012 Georgetown High School Varsity Eagle Football Team qualified for the UIL
4A Division I State Football Playoffs and successfully defeated Magnolia, Summer Creek, Angleton,
Nederland , and Leander Rouse to advance as a State Finalist to play against Denton Guyer in the State
Championship Game on December 22, 2012 at the Dallas Cowboy Stadium in Dallas, Texas; and
WHEREAS, this team demonstrated that dedication, work ethic, long hours of practice, mutual
support and commitment, discipline, and team unity can be a very powerful and unstoppable force, and
WHEREAS, the Head Coach, Assistant Coaches, Athletic Trainers, Student Trainers, Team
Managers, and Film Crew who provided superior leadership, expertise, dedication, and commitment to
the development of the players of the Georgetown High School Varsity Eagle Football Team are also
honored for this remarkable and historic football season; and
WHEREAS, the Georgetown High School Varsity Eagle Football Team further enjoyed the
wholehearted support of the GISD Board of Trustees, the superintendent Joe Dan Lee, principal Carlton
Tucker, athletic director Phil Blue, and is the source of tremendous pride for the students, faculty and
staff of Georgetown High School and the entire City of Georgetown and surrounding community, and
the team members are certainly worthy of recognition for their outstanding achievement; and
WHEREAS, the entire City and community are not only proud of the Georgetown High School
