Notice is hereby given that the City of Georgetown Building Standards Commission held a special
meeting at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, the 27th of March 2003, in the Williamson Conference room located at
300-1 Industrial Ave., Georgetown, Texas to consider the following:
ATTENDANCE: COMMISSIONERS: Jim Schiller, Richard Lenning, Lloyd Potts, Ed Martin, Neil Daly
Alternates: Edward Baxter, Billy Strickland
Staff: Building Official – Dave Hall, Secretary- Laura Anderson, Fire Marshall-Tom Leggett,
Commercial Plan Examiner-Steve O’Neal
Attorney: Jo-Christy Brown of Brown & Carls L.L.P.
Speakers: Lee MacIntosh, Managing Partner and Lee Alexander, Architect of MacIntosh Holdings,
L.L.C.
Meeting called to order at 4:00p.m.
Regular Session
Consideration of approval of the minutes from the special Commission meeting held on February
16, 2003. Leaning motioned, Daly seconded Passed 5-0
Executive Session
(Commission reserves the right to convene into Executive Session at any time during the meeting
regarding any agenda item. In compliance with the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551 Government Code,
Vernon’s Texas Code, Annotated, the item below will be discussed in closed session.)
1. Section 551.071 consultation with attorney.
Dave hands out reference to attending Commissioners and Attorney.
Regular Session begins at 4:55
2. Action from Executive Session. none
3. Consideration and possible action to nominate a Vice-Chairman for the Building Standards
Commission. Mr. Martin is nominated for this position. Lenning
Motions, Daly seconded, Passes 5-0
4. Consideration and possible action to nominate a Secretary for the Building Standards
Commission. Nominated Lenning, Potts motioned, Daly seconded.
Passed 5-0
5. Consideration and possible action of an appeal request of the Building Official’s interpretation
pursuant to Sections 103.1 and 301.3 respectively, of the 1994 Standard Building Code
pertaining to Occupancy Classifications and Fire Resistant separations for construction for a
tenant space remodel located at 603 W. University, suite 106 owned by Lee H. MacInstosh,
Managing Partner of MacIntosh Holdings, L.L.C.
Discussion of Facts – tape available
Determination on what the space is and how the classification came about, explained to Lee
MacIntosh and Lee Alexander, - tape available.
Lenning motions to deny appeal and Martin seconds. Martin concurs that the
principal is gymnasium. Passed 5-0
