Discussion and possible action for the review and update to the City of Georgetown Electrical Ordinance from the 1999 National Electrical Code to the 2002 National Electrical Code and Electrical Licensing requirements in order to be presented to the City of Georgetown City Council for consideration and future adoption. Dave handed out a draft ordinance to each member showing proposed changes to the Electrical Ordinances. He commended those whom gave input to him on the changes that helped out alot. He highlighted in several colors indicating the changes needed to be made. The members viewed them by page and discussed changes individually. He stated that his main concern at this time were the Contractors coming in to register and not having proper paperwork from the State. He stated that he would honor anyone holding a current City of Georgetown License and until December 31, 2004, but as of January 1, 2005 all must registered with proper paperwork required by the State to work within the Community. He is trying to get this ordinance to Council for changes so that we can charge a registration fee for administrative services as soon as possible. Registration fees have not been determined at this time. Dave will be working on a fee to charge. Sections of the current ordinance was deleted and combined into other sections. Dave will finish the draft ordinance and prepare it for the next board meeting to review and final before sending to Council for consideration of approval.
