Georgetown, Texas 78626 Commissioners Present: Richard Lenning, Chair, Ed Baxter, Ed Martin, Sam Giancarlo, Stanley Bland, Ricki Young Commissioners absent: Billy Strickland, Kristopher Kopack Staff Present: Dave Hall, Patricia Rinehart A regular meeting of the Building Standards Commission, for consideration and possible action on the following: Meeting called to order at 4:00 pm Regular Session 1. Consideration of approval of the minutes from the regular Commission held on March 17, 2005. Motion by Commissioner Lenning to approve the minutes from the March 17, 2005 meeting. Second by Commissioner Martin. Motion Approved 5-0. 2. Executive Session (Commission reserves the right to convene into Executive Session at any time during the meeting regarding any agenda item. In compliance with the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551 Government Code, Vernon’s Texas Code, Annotated, the item below will be discussed in closed session.) Section 551.071 consultation with attorney. None Regular Session 3. Action from Executive Session. None 4. Consideration and possible action concerning violations and noncompliance with the Dangerous Structure Ordinance of the City of Georgetown on the structure located at the property described as Block G (NE/PT), .0258 acres located in the Dalrymple Addition to the City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, located at 402 W. University, Georgetown, Texas, whether owners of said structure and/or the City of Georgetown shall be ordered to repair, remove or demolish said building within a specified period of time, and to issue such other orders as the Commission may deem necessary related to remedying the dangerous conditions. Dave discussed a letter he recieved as of today from the owner at 402 W. University noting that she will comply to remove the dangerous structure from this site. He will work with her in the process and through HARC (Historical Commission) and schedule a meeting to present her process, Hire a Demolition Company and have the structure removed by October 1, 2005. He stated that this item will be placed back on the agenda if the owner does not comply. Dave will seek an order from the Judge approving a Demolition Contractor to remove the structure which is needed for records. Ed Martin questioned the process of dangerous structures and it is activated. Dave explained that usually an Inspection Services staff will notice the structure or they have been notified by a citizen and then the complaint is forwarded the Building Official for further investigation and processed for code violations. 5. Suggested items for next regularly scheduled meeting agenda. Ed Martin would like to discuss an update of this dangerous structure. Meeting adjourned at 6:00. Motion by Lenning.
