Georgetown, Texas 78626 Commissioners Present: Jim Moreland, Chair, Al Gaskell, Jon Carey, Jim Hellebusch Commissioners absent: Becky Krause Staff Present: Dave Hall, Patricia Rinehart, Gary Lillo, Barbara Quirk A regular meeting of the Building Standards Commission, for consideration and possible action on the following: Meeting called to order at 4:15 pm Regular Session 1. Consideration of approval of the minutes from the regular Commission meeting held on December 14, 2006. Motioned by to approve the February 15, 2007 minutes. Seconded by Jon Carey. Motion approved 4-0. 2. Election of a Vice Chariman for the Building Standards Commission. Al Gaskell volunteered to serve as Vice Chairman for the Board. Motion to approve and seconded by Jim Hellebusch. Motion approved 4-0. 3. Election of a Secretary for the Building Standards Commission. Jon Carey volunteered to serve as Secretary for the Board. Motion to approve and seconded by Jim Hellebusch. Motion approved 4-0. Executive Session (Commission reserves the right to convene into Executive Session at any time during the meeting regarding any agenda item. In compliance with the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551 Government Code, Vernon’s Texas Code, Annotated, the item below will be discussed in closed session.) 4. Section 551.071 consultation with attorney. None Regular Session 5. Action from Executive Session. None 6. Consideration and possible action concerning violations and noncompliance with the Dangerous Structure Ordinance of the City of Georgetown on the structure located at the property described as Block 60 (PT), Acres .169 located in the Lost Addition to the City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, located at 608 West 10th Street, Georgetown, Texas, whether owners of said structure and/or the City of Georgetown shall be ordered to repair, remove or demolish said building within a specified period of time, and to issue such other orders as the Commission may deem necessary related to remedying the dangerous conditions. City of Georgetown Code Enforcement Officer Gary Lillo presented slide show of Dangerous Structure located at 608 W. 10 th Street. Members discussed demolition of the building to take place Chairman Jim Moreland complemented Gary Lillo and city staff on a job well done. He stated that the information provided was very informative for the board Motion by Stanley Bland. Seconded by Ed Baxter . Motion approved 5-0. Meeting adjourned at 5:40. 7. Review of Building Standards Commission Bylaws for final action to update and revise current Bylaws in order to forward to the City Council for adoption. Dave discussed previous and proposed revised Bylaws and stated that he will make corrections and get a final copy to everyone the next board meeting 8. Suggested items for next regularly scheduled meeting agenda. Motion by Stanley Bland. Seconded by Ed Baxter . Motion approved 5-0. Meeting adjourned at 5:40.
