Members absent: John Wiley, Staff present: Shelly Hargrove Kent Huntsman called meet to order at 6:35 p.m. Motion to approve January minutes by acclimation was made by Carolyn Martin, seconded by Martha Lawlor. Kent Hunstman was asked by city council to serve as chair again and he agreed. Announcement made that an election of Secretary and Vice-chairman would occur at the next meeting. Kent appointed Scherry Chapman to take minutes for this meeting until a new secretary is selected. Shelly stated that Mark Thomas, ED Director was not able to attend this meeting. Open discussion of Georgetown Sports & recreation complex occurred. Kent to serve on the steering committee. Shelly announced meeting with Main St Board in April to develop a brand for Georgetown. Posey Duncan agreed to attend the meeting as CVB representative. Open discussion regarding Fiddlin’ Fair Committee members. Ellen Weimer volunteered to be on the committee. Shelly presented Staff Report on the following: Open discussion occurred after presentation of the Web Trends Report, January, 2004. Board Retreat, after the new board members are on board in March. Information on CVB board procedures and guidelines handed out at orientation session. New CVB Members are Bill Banks, Holly Bresser, and Gaz Green. Appreciation reception for outgoing members Tuesday Feb, 24 at 5 p.m. at City Council Chambers Media Exposure: Visitors Guide, 16 Pages full color will be distributed to state visitor’s centers and at Gateways to Texas. American Spirit Magazine, interview with Eugenia Harrell, former Main Street Director. CVB/Main Street Program Internship through Southwestern University. Names suggested were: Carolyn Martin, Gary Neuman, Don Stacy, Mayor Nelon, Clare Easley, Martha Allen, Renee Hanson, Mr. Nichaols, George Norsworthy, Corp of Engineers – Lake Georgetown representative, Cindy Locke, Kim Fugleberg, Don Martin and Jay Sloan. National Tourism Week May 8 -16 Move to adjourn by acclimation at 7:30 p. m.
