1.Board meeting called to order at 5:19 p.m by Candice Butler.
2.Induction of New Members by Yvette Rose.
3. Meeting Minutes for 8/29 approved, 9/11 meeting minutes approved, 9/18 meeting
minutes approved 10/3 meeting minutes approved, Candice Butler motions to correct 10/17/06

4. Kate Doocy reports on Haunted Hayride. GYAB did not place this year as Serteens and
Parks Staff were voted on this year. - Kate Doocy
5. Amanda Emerson leads the discussion on upcoming Calendar events. Last Open Rec
Night is November 10, from 9:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m., Veteran's Day will be on Saturday the 11th
of
November at the local Nursing Homes. GYAB will meet at the Rec. at 9:45 a.m. December 14,
attendance at City Council is postponed until a report can be created. Next GYAB meeting
will be November 21, at 5:0- p.m. her at Parks and Rec. Administration, Conference room.
6. Discussion and possible action on participation in the Williamson County Coalition on the
Prevention of Underage Drinking lead by Brenda J. Culver. Rachel makes a motion for GYAB
to join the Coalition, Amanda seconds. All in favor.
7.The discussion on the GYAB Retreat lead by Brenda Culver. Still need to find a date that
the majority ofmembers can attend.
8.Melissa McNutt adjourns the meeting at 6:15 p.m., Rachel McNutt seconds.

Youth Advisory Board Mission Statement
The Georgetown Youth Advisory Board provides a means for youth to unite the community,

Meeting Minutes
October 17, 2006
1.Candice Butler calls the meeting to order at 5:10 p.m.
2.Brenda J. Culver opens discussion on members expectations for the upcoming year.
GYAB will report to the City Council twice a year, (fall and spring) to keep them informed of the
Boards activities within the community. Kimberly Garrett will be invited to a future board
meeting to discuss GYAB's interest in the Teen Center costruction and programing. GYAB will
plan a retreat for goal planning, challenge course activities and organizational purposes. Brenda
requested members create a t-shirt design for GYAB, and to bring to the next meeting. GYAB
will be recruiting at GISD middle schools, the 9th grade center and the high school in the next
two weeks, to increase membership. Members did request that we change the meeting day from
Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m. to Mondays at 5:00 p.m., due to numerous conflicts with work, school.
Brenda will place revision of the Bylaws on the next agenda for the next meeting.
3.Jill Kellum inducted Kate Doocy and Canndice Butler into the Board
4.Brenda reportd on GYAB participation in High School Vacation Party. There were three
memebers in attandance, and 50 students who participated. There were fewer students this year
due to a lack of advertising at the high school and 9th grade center.
5.Brenda asked members to consider starting up Committees to help coordinate ongoing
GYAB events and service projects. More discussion will be held on this topic at the next
meeting.
6.Date set for next meeting, September 11, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. here at the Parks
Administration Conference Room. on Calendar - Brenda J. Culver
7.Phone Tree will start with Brenda calling Senior Erin Hildebrant who will then contact
the member above her, with each member responsible for calling the person directly above them.

8.Ideas were discussed for the upcoming Haunted Hayride, Crystal Pratt suggested a
Frankenstein monster on the table who will be shocked by lightening, brought to life then he kills
the humans, who then arise as zombies to chase the trailers. Further discussion will be held at
the next meeting.
9. Ann Evans moves to aduourn at 5:37 p.m. Crystal Pratt seconded.

October 3, 2006
1.Board meeting call to order- Candice Butler calls the meeting to order at 5:21 p.m.
2.Jacob Wolfman opens the discussion on the Calendar. The following dates Oct.10, meet
the GYAC members for meet and greet 4:00 p.m., Oct.16, Open Rec Night 9:30 p.m. - 12:00
am., Oct,17, GYAB meeting, Oct. 20, Open Rec Night 9:30p.m. - 12:00 a.m., October 26,
Hayunted Hayride 4:30 p.m. at Arbor in San Gabriel Park, Oct 28, tenative Retreat date.
3.Crystal Pratt opens discussion on Haunted Hayride Scene. She suggest a Frankenstein
scene where he kills girls in the graveyard, drags them to the mad scientist who then conduct
experiments on them. The group discusses what props are needed as well as what GYAB already
has for props in the warehouse.
4. Brenda Culver discussion on a tenative GYAB Retreat, October 28, 9 a.m. - 4p.m.,
everyone is asked to check their schedules and get back to if there are any conflicts.
5.An Evans motions to Adjourn at 6:09 p.m. Jacob Wolfman seconds.

September 18, 2006
1.Board meeting call to order at 5:11 p.m.by Melissa McNutt.
2.Erin Hildebrand is inducted by Yvette Rose.
3.Discussion on Bylaws is Melissa McNutt makes a motion to change Article IV Section
4.1 Two regular monthly meetings will be heald on the first Tuesday and third Tuesday of the
month at 4:30 p.m. in the recreation Center Conference Room located at 1003 N. Austin Avenue.
The meeting time would be changed to 5:00 p.m.and the location would be changed to Parks
Administration Conference Room at1101 N. College St. Jacob Wolfman seconds. Vote 7-0 in
favor of changes.
4.Discussion on upcoming events, Recruiting at GISD middle school, September 19, 20
and 21. Haunted Hayride October 26, and Retreat November 5, & 6, 2006. Christmas Caoroling
December 16, at local Nursing Homes. Jacob & Erin volunteers to head up a Committee to
oversee getting small gift baskets for the seniors to present while caroling.
5.Discussion on GYAB Phone Tree to inform members of upcoming meetings and events
lead by Brenda Culver.
6.Discussion on Haunted Hayride Scene lead by Crystal Pratt. Crystal explains the scene
and how the board can paticipate in the Hayride.
7. Brenda opens the discussion on GYAB Retreat. Date will be November 4 & 5, 2006.
This event will include team building exercises, leadership training, and goal setting for the
future of GYAB.
8..Jacob adjourns the meeting at 6:08 p.m. Amanda Emerson seconds.

2.Candice Butler opens discussion Georgetown City Limits. The following bands have
agreed to play: Landon's Way, The Haunt, Jove, Buried for Adeline, Dretsun. Theere wuill be a
$3.00 charge for entrance, Free with community service.Poster's will be made on Sunday,
Candice will make flyers. All members are needed for the fence Friday at 4:00 p.m., shirts for
GCL will have to be put on hold due to budget.

January 17, 2006
Meeting Minutes
1.Board meeting called to order at 5:02 p.m.by Phillip May.
2.Bobby Bulls informs the Board on a Intermural Sports day he would like to get support
for in the event that GISD doesn't back the event. GYAB
will place this item on the agenda for the next meeting.
3. Report on MLK Service Day given by Brenda J. Culver. The event was hosted by The
Georgetown Project and the Youth Action Council with
approximately 100 attendees. There were interfaith speakers, Drum Cafe lead a dynamic
group drumming and then service projects in the
afternoon.
4. Discussion and possible action on March Madness lead by Brenda J. Culver about hosting
this event in March. An informal planning meeting will
outline the necessary responsibilites at a meeting on January 24, at 4:30 p.m. at the
Recreation Center. Jacob and Amanda volunteer to contact the
coaches to get their involvement.
5.Discussion and possible action on Georgetown City Limit lead by Brenda J. Culver. Date
for GCL will be April 29th, 2006,, due to prom and other GISD events.
6.Discussion and possible action on Attendance lead by Brenda J. Culver. Members whose
attendance has fallen below the required number will be
receiving letters thanking them for their service. Brenda ask for suggestions on how to
get attendance back up and also the members commitments
on events that they have agreed to host or cosponsor.
7.Discussion and possible action on Calendar/ Middle School Pool Parties & Back to
School Party lead by Brenda J. Culver. Candice Butler moves to continue sponsoring
the High School Back to School Party in August. Phillip seconds. All in favor 9 - 0 opposed.
Middle School Pool Parties
were not approved as the consensus was that we can not get the members to attend
during the summer. Brenda reminded the Board that they
initially stated that they wanted to sponsor more Middle School events, and there has
been no action taken towards this goal. Cupid's Chase will
be February 11, 2006, volunteers will assist with the first Water Station behind the
Recreation Center. Volunteers will need to be here at 7:30 a.m
an the event is usually over within an hour of the race start. Brenda will have fresh
donuts and hot cocoa for those helping with this event.
8.Candice moves to adjourn the meeting at 5:38 p.m., Melissa seconds. 9-0 in favor.
