The Main Street Advisory Board of the City of Georgetown, Texas, met on Wednesday , June 1, 2005.
Board Members Present:
Gordon Baker, Cindy Locke, Marsha Farney, Laura Eliel, Diane Painter, Larry McCormick
Board Members Absent:
Sarah Jane Blankenship, Francisco Choi, Kirk Kriegel
Staff Present:
Shelly Hargrove, Main Street Manager and Rebecca Rowe, City Historic District Planner
Minutes
Regular Meeting
1.Meeting called to order at 8:07 a.m. by vice-chair Cindy Locke. Chair Gordon
Baker excused himself due to a conflict of interest.
2.Shelly introduced Beverly Adam and distributed paperwork to each MSAB
member pertaining to Ms. Adam’s application for a façade and sign grant for her new
business, Sweet Serendipity. Discussion followed about her plans for renovation. She
elaborated on items her gift basket shop would offer such as homemade chocolates.
The total amount requested was $6,699.93 with a slight additional amount that might be
included from rental equipment necessary for the painting.
3.Marsha made the motion to accept up to $6,800. Laura seconded the motion.
The motion carried unanimously.
4.Gordon resumed his position as chair and introduced Rebecca Rowe as staff
liaison to HARC. She elaborated on the need to expand the current list of protected
historical properties to include other properties that have now met the required age
limit. Discussion followed about specific properties including the San Gabriel Motor
Court.
5.Meeting adjourned at 9:09.
