The Animal Shelter Advisory Board of the City of Georgetown, Texas, met on Thursday, July 19, 2007.
Members Present:
Shawn Gunnin, Chair, Keith Fruge, Secretary, Christy Hullum, Erica Haley, Patty Eason and Ken Finn

Regular Meeting
Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Shawn Gunnin.
1. Citizen comments — none.
2. June 2007 minutes — Motion by Ken Finn to accept the minutes as presented and was second by
Keith Fruge. Minutes were accepted unanimously.
3. Report from Shelter Director — Ken Finn presented the shelter report for the month of June. Cat
intakes were up slightly from last year and a parvo outbreak required the euthanizing of four dogs. The
first iteration of the reduced cost spay /neutering clinic took place at the shelter and was a success.
Georgetown Animal Outreach provides the funding and Emancipet is performing the procedures. For
September the focus will be on spay /neutering of Pitt Bull breeds.
4. Discussion and possible action on plans for renovation of the animal shelter — Ken Finn
presented the proposed renovation plan for the animal shelter administration building. The key changes
include moving the shelter manager's office to a more suitable location, an animal treatment area, a
dedicated classroom, a volunteer lounge /office, a room for customers to handle cats for adoption and
more storage space.
5. Discussion and possible action about completed items from the HSUS recommendations — This
item was tabled for next months meeting.
6. Discussion and possible action on disaster preparedness — This item was tabled for next months
meeting.
