A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN, TEAS, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
TO SIGN APPLICATIONS, CONTRACTS, AND
AGREEMENTS WITH THE STATE OF TEXAS, AND
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown intends to undertake certain
improvements to the Georgetown Municipal Airport; and
WHEREAS, the general description of the project is described as
"construct an air traffic control tower "; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown has available local funds for
completion of this project; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown agrees to complete the construction
within two years of grant approval;
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown intends to request financial
assistance from the Texas Department of Transportation for these improvements
in the amount of 50% of actual costs not to exceed $500,000 on the part of the
State; and
WHEREAS, local funds will be available as of FY `2001 to meet project
expenditures; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown will contract for and be responsible
for the administration and management of contracts necessary for the completion
of these improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this
resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are
incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied
verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this resolution implements Facilities
and Services Policy 1 of the Century Plan — Policy Plan Element, which states:
"The City will endeavor to increase the quality of life through the upgrading of
existing facilities and services and the provision of new services to meet the
specific needs of the community "; and further finds that the adoption of this
resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies,
as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan.

SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby directed to execute, and the City
Secretary to attest thereto on behalf of the City of Georgetown, at the appropriate
time, and with the appropriate authorizations of this governing body, all
applications, contracts, and agreements with the State of Texas, represented by
the Texas Department of Transportation, an such other parties as shall be
necessary and appropriate for the implementation and completion of the
improvements to the Georgetown Municipal Airport
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
