WHEREAS, the United States Government and the Criminal Justice Division of
the Governor's Office have approved funds for the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant
program; and
WHEREAS, the Georgetown Police Department seeks authorization of
submission of the application to the Criminal Justice Division of the Governor's Office
and acceptance of the grant award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ;` !
SECTION 1
The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby
found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim.
SECTION 2
The City Council has found that this action implements Public Safety Policy End
8.00 of the Century Plan which states: "Citizens of Georgetown feel safe and are well
protected from crime and disorder, natural disasters and emergencies;" and has found that
this action is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as
required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Century Plan.
SECTION 3
The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Secretary to attest thereto
the Grantee Acceptance Notice with the Governor's Office on behalf of the City of
Georgetown.

SECTION 4
The City of Georgetown will return any funding to the Criminal Justice Division
of the Governor's Office in the event of loss or misuse of grant funds.
SECTION 5
The City of Georgetown will be responsible for an amount not to exceed the
requested 10% match of the grant request.
SECTION 6
This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
