CM032f - 11 WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown has received a request for the Vacation and Abandonment of a twenty (20) foot public utility easement in a Resubdivision of Wood Ranch, Section 5, Lot 5 and 6, as recorded in Cabinet R, Slides 133-134 of the Official Plat Records of Williamson County, Texas, and located at 1500 West University Avenue (the "Property"), as shown on the attached Exhibit A; and WHEREAS, there are no utilities located or proposed to be located within the Property; WHEREAS, upon considering the request for Vacation and Abandonment and additional information pertaining to the request, the City Council now finds that a public need for the Property no longer exists. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this resolution implements the following policies of the Century Plan - Policy Plan: 1 Growth and Physical Development Policy 1, which states: "The City will ensure that future land use patterns provide economic, cultural, and social activities to all residents, businesses and organizations; and 2. Utilities/Energy Policy 2, which states: "The City will establish Utility policies which take into consideration the needs of all citizens of the community and take necessary precautions to prevent harmful ecological impact on the environment." The City Council further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan. SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a Quit Claim Deed in the form attached hereto as Exhibit B abandoning a twenty (20) foot public utility easement in Resubdivision of Wood Ranch, Section 5, Lot 5 and 6 Abandonment Resolution No. c;200.32SP-11 Page 1 of 2 J:1CUR-PLAN\CITYCNCL\ABAND\2000ABAN\WR-5-5&6.RE8 a Resubdivision of Wood Ranch, Section 5, Lot 5 and 6, as recorded in Cabinet R, Slides 133-134 of the Official Plat Records of Williamson County, Texas, and located at 1500 West University Avenue, as shown on the attached Exhibit A, and the City Secretary is authorized to attest thereto on behalf of the City of Georgetown. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption. RESOLVED this day of 2000. ATTEST: Sandra D.
