AUTHORIZING THE M• TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN AND THE BRAZOS RIVER AUTHORITY FOR
AN AMOUNT UP TO 10,000-ACRE FEET OF WATER FROM THE BRAZOS
I # AUTHORITY.
WHEREAS, The City of Georgetown has requested from the Brazos River Authority (BRA)
10,000 acre -feet of water to meet the long term water needs of the community and;
WHEREAS, the Brazos River Authority Board, has made it known to the City of
Georgetown that through the Alliance of Water Authorities will provide an amount up to
10,000 acre -feet of water;
Section 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein
and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that
this resolution implements the following Policy Ends of the Century Plan - Policy Plan
Element:
1. Environmental & Resource Conservation Policy End 2.00, which states: The goal is to
ensure a long -term supply of water to meet future demands for the Georgetown
Certificate of Convenience and Necessity (CCN.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1
OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
And further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict with
any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.0 of the Administrative Chapter of the
Policy Plan.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Georgetown supports the terms and
conditions of the water supply agreement with the Brazos River Authority and hereby authorizes the
Mayor to execute, and the City Secretary to attest thereto an agreement with the Brazos River
Authority on behalf of the City of Georgetown,

Section 3. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
