WHEREAS, aS8 Home-Rule Municipality, according tO Chapter 43Of the Texas Local
Government Code, the City of Georgetown has the authority to fix and extend its municipal
boundaries and annex area adjacent tO its boundaries; and
WHEREAS, a municipality may annex only in its extraterritorial jurisdiction, unless the
municipality owns the area; and
WHEREAS, State law gives to municipalities tO annex sparsely occupied areas
on the petition of the area landowners when the area is one-half mile or less in width, contiguous
to the municipality, and is vacant and without residents or on which fewer than three qualified
VOt8[S reside; and
WHEREAS, a written petition for annexation has been received from the owners of the
U.85O ACRES OUT {lF THE FRANCES A HUDSON SURVEY, TOBE KNOWN AS8 AND T
8UBO|V|G|DN' L{}lF 1, describing the area by rn9t8s and bounds; and
WHEREAS, this property is one-half mile or less iO width, is contiguous to the City limits
of the City of Georgetown, and is vacant and without residents or has fewer than three qualified
VVte[S residing on it; and
WHEREAS, the City Council Of the City 0f Georgetown, Texas heard the petition and the
arguments for and against the annexation; and
WHEREAS, a proposed service plan was presented to and discussed by the Council
and all interested persons; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the annexation i8in the best interests
of the City of Georgetown; °
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION . The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made 8 part hereof, 3sif copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this
resolution implements the fD||DVVing pO|iCi8S of the Century P|8O - Policy Plan B9nneOt:

1. Environmental and Resource Conservation Policy 1, which states: "The Physical
attributes that make Georgetown attractive are protected"; and
2. Growth and Physical Development Policy 1, which states: "Land use patterns within
the City provide economic, cultural, and social activities to all residents, businesses and
organizations"; and
3. Growth and Physical Development Policy 2, which states: "The City's regulations
implement the policy statements and provide the opportunity to seek change with
reasonable effort and expense"; and
4. Growth and Physical Development Policy 3, which states: "Annexations procedures
and standards benefit the community";
and further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict with any
other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the
Policy Plan.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Georgetown hereby grants the petition for
voluntary annexation of 6.950 ACRES OUT OF THE FRANCES A. HUDSON SURVEY, TO BE
KNOWN AS B AND T SUBDIVISION, LOT 1, as described in Exhibit A.
SECTION 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign on behalf of the City Council of
the City of Georgetown.
SECTION 4. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.

PERIMETER FIELD NOTES FOR ANNEXATION
BEING 6.95 acres of land, situated in the Francis A. Hudson Survey, Abstract No. 295, in
Williamson County, Texas, said Iand being that certain tract of land, called Lot I of the B and T
SUBDIVISION, a subdivision of record in Cabinet L, Slides 184 -185, of the Plat Records of
Williamson County, Texas, as conveyed to Contractor's Sales and Rentals, Inc., by General
Warranty Deed recorded as Document No. 9864644 of the Official Records of Williamson
County, Texas. Surveyed on the ground in the month of October 2000, under the supervision of
Don H. Bizzell, Registered Professional Land Surveyor, and being more particularly described as
follows;
BEGINNING at an iron pin found on the East line of Interstate Highway No. 35, marking the
Northwest corner of the above- referenced 6.95 acre tract, for the Northwest comer hereof,
THENCE, N 690 02' E, 1,146.78 feet to an iron pin found marking the Northeast corner of the
said 6.95 acre tract, for the Northeast corner hereof;
THENCE, S 210 03' 30" E, 243.05 feet to an iron pin found marking the Southeast corner of the
said 6.95 acre tract, for the Southeast comer hereof;
THENCE, S 68° 44' W, 1,311.88 feet, passing an iron pin found at 1,239.76 feet marking the
Southeast comer of a 40' Access Easement, to an iron pin found on the said East line of Interstate
Highway No. 35, marking the Southwest corner of said 6.95 acre tract, for the Southwest comer
hereof,
THENCE, along the said East line of Interstate Highway No. 35, N 12° 25' E, 299.31 feet to the
Place of BEGINNING and containing 6.95 acres of land.
