WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown has adopted an Urban Design Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City has adopted Subdivision Regulations and a Sign Ordinance;

WHEREAS, the Urban Design Element of the Century Plan will require changes in
the Subdivision Regulations and the Sign Ordinance in order to be consistent; and
WHEREAS, a task force of citizens, councilmembers, and Planning and Zoning
Commission members is necessary to review and submit proposed modifications to the
Subdivision Regulations and the Sign Ordinance in order to maximize consistency with the
Urban Design Element of the Century Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
• GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution
are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference
herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby
finds that this resolution implements the following policies of the Century Plan - Policy Plan
Element:
1. Governmental Affairs Policy End 6.0, which states: "A high level of cooperation
and involvement exists among Georgetown's citizens and governmental organizations."
2. Growth and Physical Development Focus End 7.1, which states: "The City's
regulations implement the Policy Ends and provide the opportunity to seek change with
reasonable effort and expense."
3. Urban Design Policy End 13.0, which states: "Georgetown has a positive,
identifiable image and an attractive appearance."
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby adopts the following guidelines to be used by
the Task Force: (a) the Subdivision Regulations and Sign Ordinance shall be reviewed
from the perspective of consistency with the Urban Design Element; (b) changes to be
proposed to the design standards, detailed development plan requirements, landscape

Requirements, any other inconsistent provisions of the Subdivision Regulations and
sign standards shall provide maximum consistency of current City development
regulations with the Urban Design Element; and @ technical standards and graphic
depictions shall be provided for inclusion in the Subdivision Regulations and Sign
Ordinance.
SECTION 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Secretary
to attest thereto this resolution on behalf of the City of Georgetown.
SECTION 4. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
