Regular Session - To begin no earlier than 3:30 p.m. The meeting was called to order at 3:35 by Cbair Woodard. Agenda A. Consideration and possible action to approve minutes from the April 16, 2014 meeting. Motion by Board member Gavurrtil< to approve the minutes from the Apri] 16,. 2014 Housing Advisory Board meeting. Presentation and discussion about Georgetown Economic Development —Mark Thomas, Economic Development Director (Curtee arrived) Mark Thomas- explained his role and function as Economic Development Director For the City of Georgetown. Thomas stated the City of Georgetown is partof the Austin R¢gional Partners were economic developers work together. Bills, Housing Coordinator Jennifer Bills provided a overview of the Home Repair request; description of project and recommended iw.o oprions For consideration. Board and staff discussed the options available. Option 1: Repair and rebuild the back half of ih¢ structure (968 square feet). Due to the lack of a true pier and beam foundation, the entire section would Have to be demolished and r nstructed. The initial estimate includes a new Foairidation, reframing, flooring, endows, siding and rebuilding the roof to connect properly to the original strsscture. The estimate does not include any interior Finishing, i.e. electrical,. plumbing or drywall. The initial estimate for [his work is $29,960. option 2: DemoBHon of the addition, siding/in ularirtg. the back wall, and a e roof r the original stnrctvre. Removing the addition w uld r e two bedrooms and a t undry/work r m, leaving the structure around 845 square feet The estimated cost of the demolition and rebuilding of the original home is approximately $12,000. Motion by Chair Woodard to approve the repair request at a level between oprions 1 and 2. Bills will soliat bids For the demolition of damaged part of tree structure and rebuild just a portion to include laundry faciBties with. the cost falling between the two previous estimates. Bills, Housing Coordinator Jennifer Bills provided an overview of the Home Repair request, anal description of project. Board and staff discussed the home being located in the Downtown Overlay District wl-dckt requires approval of materials and paint colors on any sti-uctui�e within the district. Discussion and possible action to recommend fee waivers for affordable multifamily development Jennifer G Bills, Housing Coordinator Motion by Chair Woodard to hold Special Session for Housing Advisory Board Meeting. on June 1Y, 2014 at 330_ Second by Board memb¢r Doering. Approv¢d. (B -O) An additional motion was made to address the upcoming Rovsing Advisory Board presentation to City Council Workshop. Motion by Chair Woodard to move Housing Advisory Board preservtaion to one of the City Council Workshops in August Second by Board member Gambone. Approved. (8- O) F. "Distribution of Information on Affordable Workforce Housing —For Member's Refteciion." —Walt Doering, Board Member Board member Doering, distributed handout on Affordable Workforce Housing G. Reminder of the nexi meeting date of June 18, 2014. —Jennifer C.
