'?f101?7'12 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN APPLICATIONS, CONTRACTS, AND AGREEMENTS WITH THE STATE OF TEXAS TO CONDUCT A "SMALL MARKET AIR SERVICE NEEDS ASSESSMENT," AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown intends to participate in a "Small Market Air Service Needs Assessment" study with the Texas Department of Transportation; and WHEREAS, public airports, large and small, are the air transportation system of our nation; and WHEREAS, the air transportation system is critical to our local and national economies; and WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown intends to name the Texas Department of Transportation as its agent for the purpose of receiving and disbursing funds for this study and for the administration of contracts necessary for the implementation of this study; and WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds that this study will benefit all the citizens of Georgetown. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this resolution implements Facilities and Services Policy End 1.0 of the Century Plan Policy Plan Element, which states, "The City will endeavor to increase the quality of life through the upgrading of existing facilities and services and the provision of new services to meet the specific needs of the community," and further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan. SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby directed to execute, and the City Secretary to attest thereto on behalf of the City of Georgetown, at the appropriate time, and with the appropriate authorizations of this governing body, all applications, contracts, and agreements with the State of Texas, represented by the Texas Department of Transportation, and such other parties as shall be necessary and appropriate for the implementation of the study. ,grmie meet 1%%/`.9er6ke— Resolution No. ?Sf O_R 7 — Page 1 of 2 RESOLVED this,,??//— day of , 1998.
