A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN THE LANDOWNERS' PETITION TO REQUEST THAT CITY -OWNED LAND BE INCLUDED IN THE WILLIAMSON COUNTY DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown in its Economic Development Program has recruited Power Computing to locate within the City of Georgetown; and WHEREAS, the Economic Development Program Agreement executed between the City and Power Computing contemplated the inclusion of Power Computing's facility within a County Development District to provide partial funding for the construction, maintenance, operation, and promotion of a County Expo Center; and WHEREAS, the statutes governing the creation of a county development district require that a landowner petition be submitted for such inclusion, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this resolution implements the following policies of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element: Economic Development Focus End 1. 1, which states: "Existing undeveloped sites in Georgetown are put to beneficial use." 2. Growth and Physical Development Policy End 7.0, which states: "Georgetown's land uses support economic, cultural and social activities for all residents, businesses, and organizations: and the City's development process encourages new and infill development." SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to sign a landowners' petition requesting that the 189.983 acre tract on the land known as The Rivery be included in the Williamson County Development District. SECTION 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Secretary to attest thereto this resolution on behalf of the City of Georgetown.
