Dot 25_ M A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, INSTRUCTING STAFF TO CONDUCT A UTILITY STUDY OF CAPACITY ALLOCATION ON THE SOUTH INTERSTATE 35 UTILITY LINES. WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, through its economic development and retention program, extended the water and wastewater lines along South Interstate 35 to Westinghouse Road; and WHEREAS, property owners were contacted concerning participation in the design area; and WHEREAS, the Motheral tract specifically requested not to be included in the design area; and WHEREAS, a high priority of the City Council is to ensure the development of the County Exposition Center and other support facilities in the design drainage basin. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this resolution implements the following policy or policies of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element: 1. Governmental Affairs Focus End 6.1 which states: "The City develops and coordinates service delivery policies with Williamson County, the Georgetown Independent School District, and other organizations that provide services to Georgetown." and 2. Utilities/Energy Policy End 14.0, which states: "Georgetown's utility systems provide safe and reliable service which meets the needs of all citizens and promotes the economic health of the community." SECTION 2. The City staff is hereby directed to conduct a utility capacity analysis on the South Interstate 35 utility line and report those findings back to the City Council within 30 days following receipt of the utility data needed due to the construction of the County Exposition Center. Further, the staff is instructed to contact affected property owners, and other potential purchasers and inform them that the Study will be conducted prior to a commitment of wastewater service. SECTION 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Secretary to attest thereto this resolution on behalf of the City of Georgetown. SECTION 4. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption. RESOLVED this 25th day of February, 1997.
