A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN
APPLICATIONS, CONTRACTS, AND AGREEMENTS WITH THE
STATE OF TEXAS, AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown intends to undertake certain improvements to the
Georgetown Municipal Airport; and,
WHEREAS,the general description of the project is described as " rehabilitate Runway 18-36,
Taxiways A and C, and concrete refueling apron; restripe, mark, and install reflectors; construct two
new hangar access taxiways; construct holding apron on Runways 18-36; and apply fuel resistant
seal to asphalt parking apron"; and, construct the south corporate hangar area apron; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown intends to request financial assistance from the Texas
Department of Transportation for these improvements in two phases; design in FY98 and
construction in FY99; and,
WHEREAS,the City of Georgetown intends to name the Texas Department of Transportation
as its agent for the purpose of receiving and disbursing all funds for these improvements and for the
administration of contracts necessary for the implementation of these improvements; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds that these improvements are necessary for the
continued safe and efficient operation of the Georgetown Municipal Airport.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby
found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly
made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this resolution
implements Facilities & Services Policy 1 of the Century Plan Policy Plan Element, which states, "The
City will endeavor to increase the quality of life through the upgrading of existing facilities and
services and the provision of new services to meet the specific needs of the community", and further
finds that the adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan
Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan.
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby directed to execute, and the City Secretary to attest thereto
on behalf of the City of Georgetown, at the appropriate time, and with the appropriate authorizations
of this governing body, all applications, contracts, and agreements with the State of Texas,
represented by the Texas Department of Transportation, and such other parties as shall be
necessary and appropriate for the design and construction of these improvements to the Georgetown
Municipal Airport.

SECTION 3. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
